Why Every Woman Needs a Boudoir Shoot

7 Reasons to Consider a Boudoir Shoot

Boudoir photography has grown in popularity over the last few years, but understandably, some women feel a bit hesitant about the idea of a boudoir shoot. I get it — being in front of a camera can be hard enough. But being in front of a camera with a lot of skin showing – it’s a bit intimidating.

But I promise there’s a lot more to boudoir shoots than taking sexy photos. You can wear whatever you feel beautiful and comfortable in, and it’s a surprisingly empowering experience. I would recommend a boudoir session to any woman.

Do it for yourself! Sure, you can use it as a romantic gift. But you certainly don’t have to. Whether you schedule a boudoir session before your wedding, as part of your maternity shoot, or just for fun, here are my top reasons you need one!

1. Give yourself some love + embrace your femininity.

Before the session, I recommend a little pampering. Treat yourself to a spa day so you can look and feel your best. Splurge a little on some lingerie or soft silk or lace pieces (according to your comfort level). Take time for some self-care and appreciation. Even if you plan on sharing your photos with a special someone, a boudoir shoot is just as much for you. I promise to help you feel comfortable and guide you through poses that make you feel proud to be YOU. Embrace yourself and your unique femininity.

2. Find a renewed sense of confidence.

You deserve to see yourself how others see you. As women, we often get so down on ourselves. We tell ourselves we’re too thick, too thin, too…whatever. But that’s simply not true. And that’s not how others see us.

During our session, I’ll work with you as a fellow girlfriend. I can help you pull off those Pinterest-worthy photos you’ve always wanted to try. And I think you’ll be surprised just how incredible you look doing them!

There’s just something exhilarating about stepping slightly outside of your comfort zone and daring to be a little bold (in a safe environment). You will feel more confident than ever after your session!

3. Give an intimate gift for your significant other…and yourself!

Boudoir albums make gorgeous gifts. Plus, boxed options to keep your album concealed and discreet if you’d like. They make the perfect wedding, anniversary, or “just because” gift. If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind, extra personalized gift, a romantic boudoir album will do the trick!

4. It’s fun!

I’ll be honest, boudoir sessions are always some of my favorites. Since they’re so much more intimate than other types of sessions, it’s a fun time to get away and do something just for you. You can get all pretty, and I’ll help you feel like a movie star during the session.

5. Spice things up.

I won’t elaborate on this one too much – you probably get the idea. But if romance is one of the reasons you’re considering a boudoir session, I can almost guarantee this will meet your expectations. 😉

6. Celebrate your body + your accomplishments.

A woman’s body is equally powerful and beautiful! Whether you’ve come a long way in your health journey or if you want to celebrate pregnancy (milk baths are both gorgeous and relaxing!), a boudoir session is a fun way to reward yourself and document significant personal and life milestones.
