Best Places for Couple’s Pictures

As a wedding photographer in Brooklyn, NY, I thought I’d let you in on a few of my favorite spots to take couples for great photographs. This list features a variety of locations — from iconic landmarks to quiet local spots and everything in between. Let me know what you have in mind for wedding portraits!

Here are some of the best outdoor places for wedding photos in Brooklyn:

The Brooklyn Bridge

Of course this iconic landmark made the cut! The expansive Brooklyn Bridge is a sight to behold. The architecture features a gothic revival style and was the first steel-wire suspension bridge in the world. Not only does this bridge symbolize part of New York’s rich history, it’s also just a beautiful bridge to look at with its ornate stone towers and 930-foot cables.

Maybe due to the many films that have featured this bridge as the backdrop for romantic scenes, but this is still one of my favorite spots to take couples for sweet and memorable photos. The creative backdrop makes for a great piece of wall art, too!

Brooklyn Botanic Garden

This peaceful garden has something to offer in every season. In the springtime, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden boasts blooms in every color and shade – including breathtaking cherry blossoms. In the fall, the trees turn vibrant shades of orange, red, and yellow. If you want to add a bit of nature to your wedding collection, this is the pace to do it! Plus, it provides a chance for the two of you to spend some quiet, intimate time together. The winding trails and colorful flowers make this the perfect location for bridal portraits and first looks.

Sunset Park

Nestled near Park Slope and Green-Wood Cemetery, this quiet hill provides some of the very best views of Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty – not to mention the best sunsets in all of New York! End the evening watching the sun melt into the sparkling waters of New York Bay. You won’t find many tourists in this lesser-known neighborhood, so Sunset Park is a great spot to take photos. We don’t have to fight the crowd, and we can capture panoramic views of the city.

As a bonus, this area is home to some of the best cultural food in the city. You won’t find many chains here, just authentic NYC cuisine.

Coney Island Beach & Boardwalk

For a more playful and vibrant scene, try the famous Coney Island Beach & Boardwalk. Play traditional carnival games, catch a thrilling ride, and take some adventurous pictures down by the boardwalk. You’ll have endless photo opportunities at this lively location, and they always come out so cute! This spot is too much fun for forced smiles – these photos always tend to be some of my couples’ favorites.

Brooklyn Heights Promenade

The Brooklyn Heights Promenade is a scenic walkway follows along the East River and offers spectacular views of the NYC skyline, Brooklyn Bridge, and Statue of Liberty. We can get all the angles in one spot! And, with a one-third mile pathway, there’s plenty of open space to avoid the crowds while catching a sunset and enjoying the views.
