Museums showcase beautiful exhibits, timeless works of art, and stunning architecture. The intrigue and beauty make them unique venue options. The Museum of the City of New York boasts a gorgeous Georgian-style mansion outside and New York history inside. Celebrate your marriage with friends and family at The Museum, one of the top venues in the city. The museum features five floors of exhibitions that tell the story of New York City from its beginning to the modern day. You can also find a variety of event spaces for wedding receptions, including extravagant indoor halls, lush outdoor spaces, and tented reception areas year-round. The Museum also offers a variety of event services to make your special day truly memorable.
Known for its floating marble staircase, iconic Rotunda, outdoor terraces, and French doors, this coveted venue is extraordinary. As a bonus, the Conservatory Garden and Central Park are right across the street, so you get three photogenic locations in one! Couples can walk across the street to take gorgeous photos in the garden and park without risking their wedding attire. There is also plenty of room for your wedding party to join in this photo shoot before returning to the museum.

Maryloyise & Frank’s Modern Museum Wedding
I was so excited when Maryloyise and Frank told me they had chosen the Museum of the City of New York as their wedding venue! This location is a photographer’s dream! There is so much space and variety to work with. After taking shots of the bride, groom, and wedding party getting ready, we walked across the street for a photo shoot in the Conservatory Garden and Central Park. The breathtaking greenery and fountains painted a natural backdrop for portraits. Maryloyise and Frank were naturals in front of the camera, so their photos look effortless and candid. I aim to capture the authentic connections between couples instead of stiff, posed shots.
Next, we returned to the museum to take some photos in front of the magnificent modern chandelier aptly named Starlight. Of course, we had to get a shot of Maryloyise descending the spectacular marble staircase. At The Museum, fascinating exhibits surprise you around every corner. We utilized all the gorgeous backgrounds for their couple’s portraits. I recommend this venue to couples looking for a modern, sophisticated NYC venue!
