8 Unique Spots for NYC Engagement Photos
Whether you’re hoping to pop the big question at the perfect spot in NYC, or your other half has already said, “Yes!” and you want some memorable engagement photos, you can’t beat the options New York City has to offer. Here are just a few of my favorite — and most iconic — locations for NYC engagement photos:
Central Park & Central Park Zoo
There are so many great photo opportunities within this 1.3 square-mile park. Some of the most romantic spots in Central Park include: Shakespeare Garden, Belvedere Castle, Bethesda Fountain, Bow Bridge, and the Pool – among many others.
If you’re wanting something a little more festive and fun, the Central park Zoo and Wollman Rink (in the winter) will provide memorable experiences and amazing photos.
I’d love to help you pick the perfect spot! Connect with me HERE for more information on my favorite Central Park engagement photo locations.

The Loeb Boathouse
The Loeb within Central Park features 100 charming rowboats if you feel like gliding across the water. These are always some of my favorite photos because it’s easy to capture authentic smiles and romantic moments when you’re enjoying the moment. I highly recommend this NYC experience.
*Rowboats are CASH ONLY. Check seasonal hours beforehand.
Rockefeller Center
The Top of the Rock offers the absolute best panoramic views of Central Park, the Empire State Building, and Freedom Tower. This experience will take your breath away – it never gets old for me. The skyline is mesmerizing 850 feet above street level. Afterward, have dinner and drinks after at the iconic Rainbow Room on the 65th floor.
*Due to the pandemic and seasonal changes, be sure to check their hours ahead of time. Lately, they’ve been open form 11am-7pm on most days – buy tickets beforehand.
DUMBO/The Brooklyn Bridge
Whether you want to be “Down Under the Brooklyn Bridge Underpass” or on top of the bridge, this famous landmark offers the perfect backdrop for romantic engagement photos.
* Don’t forget to bring comfy walking shoes – getting to the middle of the bridge is not fun in heels! You can switch once you’re up there.

Brooklyn Botanic Garden
For a more natural environment, enjoy the fall foliage and spring blooms at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, adjacent to Prospect Park and the Brooklyn Museum. We’ll have over 52 acres to explore, and this beautiful garden is a quiet retreat within the city.
Washington Square Park
This favorite NYC park is known for hosting cultural events and activities. To me, it beautifully symbolizes unity, diversity, and a place of togetherness. But all that aside, the circular park is also a fun place to take engagement photos. The sparkling fountain, lush green space, famous archway, and winding creek offer some unique photo opportunities. Plus, this park has some historic secrets! Check them out in this post by the Washington Square Park Conservancy.
SoHo
Trendy, high-end, and very “NYC.” If you want your engagement photos to reflect the heart and soul of this city, SoHo should be one of our stops. This vibrant neighborhood in Lower Manhattan features iconic storefronts, cobblestone streets, and bustling sidewalks that will bring a fun and distinctive NYC energy to your photos.
The High Line
Although sunset engagement sessions are super romantic, you might want to consider a quiet sunrise shoot at The High Line. This 1.45-mile elevated park and walkway gets pretty busy as the day goes on, but without the crowds, the morning light is just gorgeous!
*With current hours, the park is open from noon-8pm with timed-entry passes. To avoid crowds, we can still go soon after it opens or during the afternoon hours.
